Old & New‘ is Portobello artist Wayne Antony’s debut exhibition in Edinburgh. The show is a collection of recent paintings which include skilfully reproduced Old Master works as well as original artwork inspired by them. Drawing on his screen printing training Wayne has also produced vivid pictorial juxtapositions of local landmarks bathed in sunshine. This is a show of two contrasting and distinctive styles from the hand of one artist.

Wayne Antony is a professional artist living in Portobello, Edinburgh. Born in 1974, graduating in 1997 then working in a variety of occupations, he is only now able to devote his energy to art full-time.

Wayne paints contemporary landscapes. Recently he has been combining his screen printing training and years of realism painting to produce a distinctive juxtaposition of the styles of well-known local landmarks.

He is also drawn again and again to the Old Master painters. Studying their techniques and learning their methods I aspire to recreate their great artworks as well as original paintings inspired by them.
