The Forthline project reaches out across the Forth, embracing the Fife, Edinburgh and East Lothian coasts and their residents and communities. Conceived during the dark days of winter lockdown it is the passionate responses of well over a hundred different people to a part of the Forth coast that is special to them. It covers happy memories, wildlife present and lost, frustration and anger about intertidal and water pollution, and hope for the future, all of which encapsulates and expresses the essence of the Edinburgh Shoreline Project.
Each participant has been given a 40cm calico square to express their response in the medium they choose. We have been utterly overwhelmed by the demand for squares and for the diversity, passion and sheer beauty of the work that has been sent in. We hope you are too! We are delighted to be hosting and exhibiting a selection of the completed squares at Coburg House. Please note that if covid restrictions still apply, we may need to control/slow entrance depending on the number of visitors at any one time.
If you would like to know more here is the Edinburgh Shoreline website, and on it news about the Forthline Project.
The Forthline has been funded by generous donations from RBGE, CCN, and a range of individuals and local businesses, and as usual by a huge input from unpaid volunteers. The Edinburgh Shoreline Project team really appreciate all of this support.
