Captivating Rhythms painting by Laura Gill

‘Waiting At The Wharf’ is a collection of Fine Art paintings by Laura Gill. In this exhibition, Laura has pursued her complex yet delicate painting techniques to capture observations of real-life scenes. Through the use of light and movement in accentuated geometrical patterns, together with subtle colour harmonies, she creates unique abstracted perspectives on canvas.

Laura Gill graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2011 with a Masters degree in Fine Art. Her knowledge of art history has been a constant source of reference, and is embedded in the subject matter and style of much of her work. Movement is the main focus of her paintings - movement of light, figures, sailing boats, dancers, and musicians. Her meticulous use of intricate layers of paint and her sensitive colour palette, combine to create the sense of atmosphere and dynamism within each unique piece of work.
