Based in the lower ground floor of Coburg House Art Studios, James has been handweaving unique one of heirloom styled pieces since setting up his weave label, PickOne in 1997.

James' current collections draw inspiration from the Japanese embroidery technique Sashiko stitching. James has developed + honed what is know as supplementary warps into a technique that he can claim as his own as he weaves intricate "stiches" into a base fabric creating uniquely beautiful + wearable fabrics that have an incredibly tactile quality, as well as making a visual statement. 

All pieces are woven on a computerised 32 shaft Dutch made megado loom, which aids the design process as well as allowing for there production of the more intricate aspects of these beautiful fabrics. 

As part of this spotlight James will be presenting edited highlights from previous collections as well as items from his current ever evolving structures in cloth all based on his admiration of all things stitched + Japanese.
